As you may know, our 2nd Season of our Atlas SMP community is coming to an end. As of February 5th, at 6PM GMT, the server will be closed to the community as the admins prepare for the inaugural day of Season 3. The S2 map will also become available for download in the near future should anyone wish to do so. The good news is, on February 12th at 6 pm GMT, we will begin Season 3 with a new map, new players, and new opportunities. We would like to see as many people as possible there for the opening, so please react with a thumbs up or thumbs down to let us know if you will be attending.

As far as rules go, you can checkout the # rules channel and read through them to make sure you understand the changes. This season, we would like to have less creative restriction imposed upon you. With that being said, we will not be forcing you to build anything or anywhere specific, however we would like to keep a large enough portion of land close to spawn available for community related buildings. Some examples include shops, town hall, minigames, etc. Please keep in mind that although we are not going to set rules to how or where you can build, one of the main issues with last season, evidenced by the survey results, was that there was a lack of community feel. If we wish to fix this, we feel like it would be in everyones best interest to try to build closer to spawn then before, whilst still maintaining room for the community buildings.
Keeping in mind that people may be building closer to one another, in an attempt to build community and collaboration, there is two things that we will not explicitly say in the rules, however you should keep in mind.
1. Collaboration is not only allowed, but encouraged, however 100% splitting resources and farms with 1-4 other players can ruin the shopping district and take away from the value of currency. Please support shops when possible, and be self sufficient, it is not a competition.
2. People being closer together means that your bases may be visible from others'. Please be mindful of this and keep your base looking neat, and not ruining landscape that could be used by others nearby. If you're building large farms that will not be covered/decorated, please do so with other players in mind, as if someone is building a structure, a huge, undecorated farm in the background could ruin the vibe of the build.
Proximity chat will be back this season! There is a pre-made mod-pack ready to install in the # how-does-it-work channel.
We would like to kick off the start of next season with as many of you as possible! Please let us know if you are available! See everyone in Season 03!
